I’d say the piece is from around 1880 to 1890 and was probably used as a bridal wedding accessory. It has also been suggested that it may have been used as a theatre fan as it has sequins dotted all over it. These have unfortunately caused the lace to have some staining (sides especially) along with age related surface dirt to the whole fan. The piece is in complete original condition other than a later sturdy glue repair which can be viewed from the last two pictures I have taken. There are no breaks or cracks to any part of the fan including the upper bone sticks other than what I have already mentioned. When the fan is open it isn’t rigid, it’s a heavy piece so there is movement when holding & swaying it back and forth in its open position. It is recommended that the buyer view all pictures well and I’m also happy to answer questions and add more pictures if requested. Measurements:44 cm when fan is fully open 24 cm when fan is closed from top to bottom Thank you 😊Condition:One mother of pearl outer stick has strong glue repair/ age spotting & stains, Style/ Period:Victorian, Product:Fan, Age:1850-1899, Primary Material:Mother of pearl, Sub-Type:Bridal, Product Sub-Type:Ladles, Original/Repro:Original
